Looking for a hard drive for my Macbook I came across this very entertaining flash-animation where the technology of perpendicular storage is explained.
For those of you who are lost already, perpendicular storage is a new way of storing data on a hard disk. In the quest for more storage on the same surface there were some physics boundaries that could not be crossed. Does that explain it a bit? Probably not
